Return Path Manages 10 out of 13 Public Complaint Feedback Loops – Enables ISPs Around the World to Focus on Customer Experience

New York, NY – July 6, 2011Return Path, the world’s leading email certification and reputation monitoring company, today announced it has deployed two new feedback loop services for ISPs Synacor and Fastmail.  With the addition of these services, Return Path now hosts and manages 10 of the 13 public complaint feedback loops available around the world, including BlueTie, Comcast, Cox, OpenSRS, RackSpace, Road Runner,  USA.net and Yahoo!.  Return Path’s Feedback Loop Service, a trusted unsubscribe mechanism, enables ISPs to significantly reduce email complaint rates and increase their customer satisfaction.

Synacor offers a robust, customizable, and secure email solution for a large number of ISPs, including Qwest, Century Link, WideOpenWest and many others.  FastMail has been providing email services for the past 10 years for thousands of companies and a large customer base.  Return Path’s Feedback Loop Service which provides a user interface for system administrators, automatic complaint processing and reporting, allows Synacor and Fastmail customers to report spam via their web-based mail service or email client.  The ISPs use this data to improve their spam filters, and to report customer complaints to fellow ISPs or volume senders.  Synacor and FastmaiI can now create a complete spam reporting mechanism for their customers and registered feedback loop participants.  As the Return Path Feedback Loop Service handles all signup and routing details, from setting up the feedback loop process to managing the approval request queue and reporting, Synacor and Fastmail are free to focus on other aspects of their customers’ experiences.

By deploying Return Path’s Feedback Loop Service, senders, receivers and email users all gain significant benefits.  Receivers lower their costs and improve customer satisfaction by stopping unwanted email from being sent, reducing inbound inquiries from marketers who believe their mail has been blocked, and providing a better experience for their customers who want a reduction in spam without missing email that they want to receive.  Senders get data that helps them lower their complaint rates, improve deliverability, audit their practices and create better experiences for email subscribers – who are the ultimate winners by getting less spam.

Return Path’s Feedback Loop Service removes the technical burden and customer service load required to operate a feedback loop and significantly reduces the cost for Synacor and Fastmail to offer these services.  And by allowing senders and peers access to complaint data, Synacor and FastMail are demonstrating their commitment to providing a superior experience for their customers and to making email work better for everyone.

“At Return Path, our mission is to make email better – safer, more secure and more reliable,” said George Bilbrey, President of Return Path.  “Our Feedback Loop Service is just one way we work together with ISPs to improve the overall email ecosystem and help communicate critical information to senders on a large scale.  Our Feedback Loop Service is a necessary customer support task that we are uniquely equipped to handle and that ISPs and their customers greatly appreciate.”

Return Path’s Feedback Loop Service provides senders with important customer feedback about their email programs and Return Path experts are available to help senders understand that feedback in order to make program changes that improve customer experiences and response rates.
